Everything you need to know about Full-beauty:
the complete guide

Full-beauty is a capsule taken with a meal, with ten actives and the dose of each stated on the label: 800 mg marine collagen peptides, 100 mg hyaluronic acid, 100 mg bamboo extract standardised to 50% silicon, 100 mg L-methionine, zinc, biotin and vitamins A, E, B6 and B12. This guide shows you what is in it, why it is taken with food and why hair, skin and nails run on three different clocks.

What is Full-beauty?

It is a capsule for three tissues that seem like one. Hair, nails and skin are made of related materials, but they renew at rhythms that are nothing alike. The daily dose is two capsules, with a meal.

  • Ten actives, ten doses on the label. No proprietary blends and no hidden quantities.
  • Four structural actives. 800 mg marine collagen peptides, 100 mg hyaluronic acid, 100 mg bamboo extract with silicon and 100 mg L-methionine. These are the raw materials.
  • Six nutrients with a declared role. Zinc contributes to the maintenance of normal hair, nails and skin, and biotin to the maintenance of normal hair and skin. Vitamin A contributes to the maintenance of normal skin, vitamin E to the protection of cells from oxidative stress, vitamin B6 to normal cysteine synthesis, and vitamin B12 to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.
  • No fillers. No added sugar, no colourings, no flavourings. Made in the European Union under good manufacturing practice, with a certificate of analysis for every batch.

How to take it

Two capsules, with a glass of water, during a meal. Once a day. The meal is not a detail of convenience: vitamins A and E are fat-soluble, which means they need the fat in your food. A bottle holds 60 capsules, which is exactly 30 days.

What makes Full-beauty different?

  • 800 mg of peptides, not powder. Collagen from fish skin, types I and III, enzymatically hydrolysed into small fragments rich in glycine, proline and hydroxyproline. Hydrolysis is the part that matters, because it decides what reaches the bloodstream.
  • 100 mg hyaluronic acid, produced by fermentation. Sodium hyaluronate, not of animal origin. It is the ingredient hair capsules include least often.
  • Silicon with a percentage, not just “bamboo extract”. 100 mg of stem extract from Bambusa vulgaris, standardised to 50% silicon, which means 50 mg declared. Without a percentage on the label, an extract can mean ground powder.
  • 100 mg L-methionine in free L-form. One of the body's two sulphur-containing amino acids, and the only active in the formula that provides sulphur as such.
  • Ten actives, each declared individually. A typical hair capsule stops at three or four.

The strand you see is a finished product. The only place where anything can still be done is beneath the skin.

How a strand of hair is built

The strand you comb in the morning is, biologically speaking, finished material. It no longer has blood vessels, it no longer has nuclei, it no longer receives anything. Everything it could be given was given months ago, in a place you cannot see.

That place is the bulb, a few millimetres beneath the scalp. That is where the matrix cells sit, dividing, filling up with keratin and losing their nuclei as they differentiate. The strand is what remains once the process is over: a protein cable pushed outwards, one millimetre after another. It is the same with nails, and there the factory is called the matrix.

The pace is fixed and surprisingly slow. Hair grows on average one centimetre a month, and its growth phase lasts between two and seven years. Fingernails advance by about three millimetres a month. Skin is the only one of the three that renews on a scale of days. That is why there is no single date when “you see something”: there are three different clocks, started at the same moment.

How Full-beauty works

1. Beneath the skin: the factory you cannot see

Everything a beauty capsule does reaches its destination through the blood. The hair bulb, the nail matrix and the deep layer of the skin have a blood supply; the surface layer, the one you touch, no longer does. That is the whole difference between what you apply and what you swallow.

2. The raw material: the sulphur that binds keratin

Nail keratin is rich in cysteine, and the sulphur atoms of cysteine form the bonds that give it its hardness. The formula provides sulphur in two ways: 100 mg of L-methionine, the amino acid from which the body can make its own cysteine, and vitamin B6, which contributes to normal cysteine synthesis and to normal protein metabolism. Working along the same line are zinc, which contributes to the maintenance of normal hair, nails and skin, and biotin, for hair and skin.

3. In the blood: what actually happens to collagen peptides

Collagen does not pass through the gut wall whole. Hydrolysis cuts it in advance into short fragments, and some of them are absorbed as such, through a peptide transporter in the small intestine. In a study published in Nutrients in 2018, researchers measured several short hydroxyproline-containing peptides in human blood after ingestion of hydrolysed collagen, the most abundant being prolyl-hydroxyproline. This much can be said with certainty: the fragments really do reach the bloodstream.

4. In the skin: water, scaffolding and daily upkeep

Hyaluronic acid is a molecule that binds water. The body of a 70 kilogram adult contains around 15 grams of sodium hyaluronate, and more than half of it sits in the skin. There, too, the molecule's half-life is about twelve hours, so the stock is used up and replenished day by day. Silicon is a trace element stored in connective tissue, including the skin. On top of these come vitamin A, which contributes to the maintenance of normal skin, and vitamin E, which contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress.

Vitamins A and E are fat-soluble. Without the fat in food, they are absorbed less well.

Who is Full-beauty for?

  • For anyone who colours or bleaches their hair and knows the strand no longer changes once it has left the scalp.
  • For anyone who wears their hair long and carries two or three years of growth on their shoulders at once.
  • For anyone who works a lot with their hands, in water, in detergents or in gloves.
  • For anyone who would like a single capsule instead of three bottles: collagen, silicon and biotin separately.
  • For anyone moving from one season to the next with dry office air in winter and direct sun in summer.

It is not reserved for anyone in particular. It is for anyone who prefers to give the body its raw materials daily, instead of looking for them in the outermost layer.

Myths about hair, skin and nails

“Collagen you drink goes straight to your skin”

That is not how it works. In the gut, collagen is broken down into short peptides and amino acids, like any other protein. What has been measured in the blood after ingestion is short hydroxyproline-containing fragments, not intact collagen. The picture of a molecule leaving the glass and settling in your cheek is a drawing, not a description.

“If you take biotin, your hair grows faster”

Speed is not the button it presses. A strand advances on average one centimetre a month, and that pace is set in the bulb, not by what you swallowed today. Biotin contributes to the maintenance of normal hair and skin, which is something else entirely from speed.

“If nothing shows in two weeks, it does not work”

Two weeks means, in figures, about one and a half millimetres of nail and half a centimetre of hair, and that part is still under the cuticle or only just emerging from the scalp. It is not a question of patience, it is a question of geometry.

“What you put on your skin does the same job as what you swallow”

They do different jobs, on different levels. A cream works on the stratum corneum, the surface layer. The hair bulb and the deep layer of the skin only receive what comes through the blood. They are not in competition, they are in different places.

What to expect, month by month

The first month: the foundation

The first month is not about what you can see, it is about what becomes routine. Biotin, B6 and B12 are water-soluble, which means the body does not store them, so day-to-day intake counts for more. By the end of the month, your nail has advanced about three millimetres, and the material formed since you started is only just emerging from under the cuticle.

Two months: the first new hair

At two months, about two centimetres of hair have formed during the period you have been taking the capsule. They are at the root. Nothing has changed along the rest of the length, and it could not have. This is the period when people give up most easily, even though this really is the physiological pace.

Three months and beyond: the full cycle

Only now does the picture become readable. The new hair shows at the root, and the nail has pushed forward material formed entirely during the intake period. Skin, which renews on a scale of days, responds earliest. A habit kept up for three months looks different from three months of starting and stopping.

How to get the most out of Full-beauty

  1. Tie it to the same meal. Lunch or dinner, all that matters is that it is the same one every day. A habit attached to something you do anyway keeps itself going.
  2. Do not take it on an empty stomach. Vitamins A and E need the fat in food. An ordinary meal is enough.
  3. Count in months, not days. Nails advance three millimetres a month, hair one centimetre. Any assessment made before three months is looking at old material.
  4. Cover the rest of the day too, if you like. Full-gut fits at lunch, and Full-calm before bed. Neither overlaps with Full-beauty on any active.

How to combine it with other ROOTFUL products

Beauty plus lunch. Full-beauty and Full-gut share no actives, so they can be taken at the same lunch. One time to remember instead of two.

Beauty by day, calm in the evening. Full-beauty with breakfast or lunch, Full-calm 30 to 60 minutes before bed. The two formulas do not intersect at all.

Two combinations to avoid. Full-beauty provides 50 mg of zinc, so it should not be taken on the same day as Full-immunity, which also contains zinc. And it provides 2.8 mg retinol equivalent of vitamin A, so it should not be combined with Vitamin D3 + K2 + A. In both cases the problem is the same: you would be doubling up without realising it.

Before you start. The collagen in Full-beauty is obtained from fish skin, so the product is not for anyone with a fish allergy. The daily dose provides 50 mg of zinc and 2.8 mg retinol equivalent of vitamin A, amounts you can easily add to unintentionally from other sources: do not add a second supplement with zinc or vitamin A, and do not combine it with Full-immunity or with Vitamin D3 + K2 + A. During pregnancy and breastfeeding, ask your doctor for advice before taking it: vitamin A in the form of retinol has its own rules during this period. Not intended for children. If you are on medication, talk to your doctor or pharmacist first. Do not exceed the daily dose of two capsules.

Frequently asked questions

It depends on the tissue. Skin renews on a scale of days, so it is the first to respond. Fingernails advance by about three millimetres a month and hair by about one centimetre, so there the realistic horizon is months, not weeks.
With food, always. The vitamins A and E in the formula are fat-soluble, which means they are absorbed together with the fat on your plate. On an empty stomach you lose exactly that part. An ordinary meal is enough.
With most of them, yes. From our range, it goes well with Full-gut at lunch and Full-calm in the evening, and the three do not double up on any active. Two combinations should be avoided: Full-immunity, because it also contains zinc, and Vitamin D3 + K2 + A, because it also contains vitamin A. Otherwise, check labels for zinc and vitamin A.
Yes, one important one: the marine collagen is obtained from fish skin, so the product is not for anyone with a fish allergy. The hyaluronic acid and L-methionine come from fermentation, not from animal sources. The full list on the bottle remains the place to check.
Not without asking your doctor first. The daily dose provides 2.8 mg retinol equivalent of vitamin A, and vitamin A in the form of retinol has its own rules during pregnancy, set by the doctor who is following you, not by a label. Not intended for children either.
Exactly one month. The bottle holds 60 capsules and the daily dose is two capsules, with a meal, so 30 days.

All ten actives, with the source, dose and form of each, are on the Full-beauty page. This guide is the fourth in the series; the other three are the Full-immunity guide, the Full-calm guide and the Full-gut guide.
